SELECTA OM is an automatic system for filling open bags with powder or granular products, weighed with an electronic scale, with a capacity of up to 1200 bags per hour. The system is characterized by an intelligent modular design, while at the same time being highly configurable and adaptable. As standard at the beginning of the cycle, the bag is removed by suction cups from the empty bag magazine and placed on the belt conveyor, which directs it to the receiving station. Then the empty bag is fed and placed under the filling opening by vacuum suction cups.

After filling the volume, the bag is transferred to the conveyor belt which take it then to the sealing system. High hygiene standards are ensured by constant and controlled lead of the bags in protected conditions.

How does Open mouth Bag filling system work?

Automatic bag positioning device

 It is designed to position open bags with and without concave sides under the filling chute. Suction cups pick up the bags (from the closed end) from the bag magazine, the bag is separated from the bowl and placed in a horizontal position for further transport. The positioning device enters the bag and the bag is unfolded. The open bag is transferred under the chute for the filling process.

Packaging machine body housing includes:

• Bag filling chute with pneumatically driven bag clamp
• Supporting structure
• Doors with Plexiglas or safety glass inserts, including safety interlock
• Pneumatically controlled vibrating device; Adjustable number of vibration strokes (vibration time) and automatic height adjustment to adapt to different bag sizes.

The operator panel allows for weight display during the process, automatic control of automatic taring, automatic compensation and setting of dosing parameters.

The microprocessor adapts the scale's operating speed and fine and coarse times, based on the product, and dynamically adapts to its behavior.

 Thanks to this special function, the scale allows maintaining weight precision even with the last residues in the hopper. The module allows reaching a capacity of 1000 bags/hour. The weight can vary between 5 and 50 kg. In addition, the panel provides information on faults, their possible causes and how to remedy them.

Dust collector

The collector unites all the dust collection ducts of the packaging machine into one central duct. The collector is made of AISI 304 stainless steel; maximum distance between the machine and the hood 2.5 m.
