Automated strapping line with topsheet application for Technocim, Sofia

Tallpack Bulgaria delivered and installed fully automated strapping and protective topsheet film application line at Technocim’s Sofia plant.

The solution is designed for high-volume concrete products production and provides stable operation at a capacity of up to 68 pallets per hour.

The system combines automatic topsheet film application, horizontal and vertical strapping and centralized PLC control, turning several separate operations into one continuous and fully synchronized process.

The solution

The process begins with an automatic topsheet film system that recognizes the height of each pallet and adapts in real time, ensuring precise and uniform coverage. The pallets then move to the strapping area, where both horizontal and vertical reinforcement is performed according to the type and weight of the load.

The machines are built for heavy industrial environments with solid steel structures, precise guides and highly reliable components. The process is based on high-performance strapping heads that provide high tension, fast cycles and reliable strap wrapping.

Engineering concept and control

The entire line is controlled by a Siemens PLC system with an integrated operator interface, which allows operation in automatic, semi-automatic or manual mode according to production needs. This ensures easy integration into existing conveyor lines and flexible control for specific operations.

System advantages

One of the key design advantages of the strapping system is the open strap guide channel. Unlike traditional closed systems, it allows the strap to be fired from different positions along the channel, which significantly reduces the risk of blockage and facilitates recovery in the event of an interruption.

This solution makes the system most reliable when working with heavy or irregularly shaped loads, improves resistance in highly dusty environments and reduces downtime for servicing. This design approach is one of the reasons why Tallpack equipment is the most preferred in heavy industry.
